Leadership Opportunities
There are many opportunities to give back to your chapter, one of which is to hold a Leadership position within the chapter. Serving as a leader in your chapter helps you follow the formula: Visibility + Credibility = Profitability
The Leadership Team positions include President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer and Education Coordinator, Membership Committee, Visitor Hosts, and Chapter Growth Coordinator. You can see job descriptions of the Leadership Team positions here.
Taking on a leadership role within your chapter benefits you in many ways:
· It gives you an opportunity to show your chapter members that you are leadership material. (Visibility)
· It builds trust with the other members. (Credibility)
· Experience - This is a great way to learn more about the inside workings of BNI. And the more you know about the organization, the better you can make it work for you.
· Confidence - Holding a position within an organization builds personal confidence and other members will have more confidence in your abilities.
· Gives you more exposure in front of the chapter. And more exposure translates into more business. (Visibility)
· Training - You receive great training as part of your participation.
BNI of Western Pennsylvania changes Leadership Teams every October and training is done every year, in September. You cannot hold a Leadership Team position without attending training, per our franchise agreement with BNI headquarters. If you are interested in serving on the Leadership Team, please talk with your chapter’s President. Even though we select the entire team once each year, openings are available from time-to-time due to membership turnover.
